About the role

Trailstone is looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to work with the infrastructure team to design, implement, and manage technical solutions to completion as well as support our lines of business. This role with be working with our current suite of infrastructure technologies which includes Citrix, Microsoft, VMware, AWS, Active Directory (on-premise and Azure AD), and Microsoft/Office 365 as well as identifying future technologies that would add value to the organization.  

The role is 50% projects/design and 50% operations/support requiring an individual willing and able to take the lead in researching, designing, implementing, and integrating required technical solutions end to end while being able to juggle operations/support requirements.

This role will be joining a high performing IT team specifically responsible for the administration of the infrastructure environment and ensuring maximum availability of existing services in both production and business continuity environments. 

Responsibilities

  • Management and support of the Citrix, Microsoft, VMware vSphere and server infrastructure including Windows Server, 2016 and 2019 and Active Directory / Azure AD
  • Administration of Storage Systems (VSan/NetApp/PureStorage) 
  • Project work within a formal framework to evaluate, design and implement new software and systems which will entail working with 3rd parties and suppliers to select and implement new technologies 
  • Experience working within a Scrum/Agile environment
  • Continuous oversight of updates and upgrades to systems/software to remain in line with best practices & security recommendations 
  • Ensuring that all production services are disaster recoverable, and the process is fully documented.
  • The role also involves an element of applications support/troubleshooting of business systems 
  • Management of the Data Center environment 
  • Administration of AWS, Azure and Microsoft/Office 365 platform 
  • In-depth System automation tasks and data reporting using scripting technologies such as Powershell or Python.  

 Requirements

  • Windows, 2016, and 2019 Operating Systems 
  • VMWare vSphere ESXi, 6.7+
  • Active Directory / Azure Active Directory 
  • O365 and AWS administration 
  • Citrix CCA or equivalent level experience
  • Management of backup and restore applications such as Veeam
  • Zerto replication  
  • Fully conversant with disaster recovery solutions and technologies 
  • Certified in one or more of the following: MCSA Windows Server 2016+, MCITP Enterprise Administrator, MCITP Server Administrator 
  • Infrastructure-as-code mindset – PowerShell/Python, Configuration Management (DSC/Ansible/Chef/Puppet) 
  • SolarWinds Orion configuration and monitoring 
  • Hyperconverged Infrastructure – Nutanix/VXRAIL/Hyperflex 

Preferred, but not required

  • Experience configuring high-performance / high availability SQL Servers in both virtual and physical environments
