Meteorology Intern - Summer 2023

Berlin Office | Paid Internship Position | May to July 2023 (3-month Internship)

 

About the Role 

We are looking for a Meteorology Intern to join our team in Berlin for Summer 2023. In this role you will work hand-in-hand with our team of shift traders and portfolio managers in support of proprietary power trading and the management of renewable power assets. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about power trading and renewable portfolio management in an exciting weather-driven environment.   

As a Meteorology Intern, you can expect to experience the following: 

• Working in the fast-paced environment of energy trading and renewable portfolio management.
• Interpreting meteorological data to deliver concise, understandable and accurate weather forecasts.
• Understanding and monitoring how weather impacts the energy trading environment, with a particular focus on the effects to renewable energy generation and electrical power demand. 
• Participating in the development of weather data-enabled software tools to support manual and automated daily trading.

  

About You 

What you will need to be considered for this 2023 Internship: 

• Enrolled in a bachelor’s or graduate degree in Meteorology. 
• An interest in the energy sector in particular renewable energy. 
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and have an aptitude for solving new problems. 
• Ability to commit to a 3-month full-time internship across Summer 2023 (ideally May to July).
• Strong analytical and communication skills, including fluent English language skills. 
• Strong technical/programming experience is a plus (we prefer Python!)
