Senior Gas Trader, Austin

On-site | Full-Time Role 

 

About the Role 

We are looking for an experienced Natural Gas Trader to join our growing Austin office. This is a full-time role, sitting with the Trailstone North American Gas Team, and owning the following responsibilities: 

• Act as an expert in NYMEX options and flat price markets 
• Manage own limits in terms of VaR and P&L under the overall desk limits 
• Develop trading strategies to capture fundamental PoV in NYMEX markets 
• Work with Analysts and other traders to further enhance our modelling and fundamentals 

 

About You 

As an experienced trader, this person will have expert knowledge of Natural Gas Markets in both volatility and linear points of view. In addition, we are looking for somebody with the following: 

Essential Skills: 

• Minimum of 7 years’ experience trading volatility in North American gas markets 
• Experience working collaboratively in trading teams 
• Excellent track record in a proprietary trading setting 
• Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, with the ability to engage in effective, direct communication across various levels of seniority globally 

Set Yourself Apart: 

• Programming experience with Python

• Strong commercial acumen 
• Analytical and highly numerate, with strong attention to detail 
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced trading environment
