Global ETRM Manager

 

About the Role 

The TrailStone IT department is looking for a Global ETRM Manager to work full-time in one of our main international offices: Austin TX, Berlin DE or London UK. The candidate should have a dual background of strong business analysis and technical expertise, working within a technology team and experienced with leading a team of techno-functional business analysts across multiple projects. 

This person will be required to lead and deliver projects by collaborating with business users and IT team members globally. In addition, this person will be responsible for: 

• Designing and orchestrating Trailstone’s ETRM Road Map and landscape strategy across the company. 
• Managing a global Book of Work for the team, relating to projects and BAU, successfully budgeting resourcing, projects and deliveries.  
• Developing project plans, managing project scope, prioritising requests and proactively resolving issues. 
• C-Level Stakeholder Management across the company, setting feasible expectations and goals, articulating the correct level of detail for management. 
• Engaging with and managing Trailstone Investors, presenting and communicating proficiently at meetings and workshops.  
• Delivering enterprise projects in collaboration with other internal IT teams and external vendors. 
• Managing L3 Production Support issues. 
• When necessary, working directly with business groups to break down and document current user processes, defining future business processes and gathering user requirements. 
• When needed, mentoring junior members of the team, providing guidance and support, and SME knowledge on best business practises across different domains. 

 

About You 

This person will be a collaborative leader, comfortable in a start-up environment with less structure than many banks and large corporations, able to take ownership with limited direction. They will also be comfortable working in the office in a flexible hybrid environment, based from their choice of location: Austin TX, Berlin DE or London UK. In addition, we are looking for somebody with the following attributes: 

Experience & Knowledge: 

• A breadth of experience gained across Banks, Trading Houses or Utilities within Commodity and Energy Domain.  
• Extensive knowledge of energy trading and risk management (ETRM) systems and business processes, including; trade exchange integration, trade capture, trade valuation, confirmations, invoicing and risk reporting.  
• Proven management experience, able to manage a team of business analysts and developers across multiple sites.  
• Knowledge of European and American Power and Gas Markets.  
• Tangible experience defining a solution delivery process; creating project work plans, assessing and mitigating project risks, tracking and communicating projects status, and prioritising and resolving issues. 

Technical Skills: 

• Competent Scripter – JVS/Java for OpenLink Endur. 
• Experience working confidently with database queries, SQL. 
• Experience with Python a plus.  

Leadership Attributes: 

• Experience delivering projects with agile delivery methodologies. 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
• Time management skills are critical; having the ability to prioritise tasks and manage expectations.
