About the role


As a Data Product Manager, you will help manage data and software products throughout their lifecycle including the design phase, the development process, deployment and ongoing maintenance. You will work with internal customers to define requirements, write user stories and prioritize the backlog. You will coordinate with the development team on estimates and help drive execution during the sprint cycles. 


Duties include managing the product roadmap, timelines, resolving problems and coaching team members on Agile methodologies.


What you will be doing


  • Gather detailed business requirements for new data and software products and enhancements to existing products
  • Coordinate sprints, retrospective meetings and daily stand-ups
  • Work with the business owners to manage the product backlog and guide prioritization
  • Work closely with engineering team to develop and enhance the data platform enabling internal customers to analyze data for better decision making
  • Support development of data workflows and data visualizations
  • Facilitate internal communication and drive effective collaboration
  • Manage project scope, estimated effort, timelines, resources, and individual workloads across multiple, globally distributed engineering teams
  • Set goals and drive constant progress against them
  • Diligently resolve conflicts and remove obstacles as they arise
  • Prepare and present detailed, written technical information for internal and external stakeholders as well as executive leaders


What we want to see


  • Bachelors in a technical discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Experience writing basic SQL queries using SSMS and/or MySQL Workbench
  • Prior experience in product manager, project manager or scrum master role
  • Ability to translate customer requirements into actionable project milestones
  • Skilled at coordinating people and projects with a focus on timely deliverables
  • Ability to problem solve and resolve conflict
  • Solid knowledge of Scrum techniques and artifacts (including user stories, backlog refinement and definition of done)
  • Proven track record of project ownership and driving results end-to end


It would be great if you had


  • Working knowledge of databases and experience with data mapping and migration
  • Experience with Agile SDLC and Jira
  • Familiarity with energy markets and trading
  • Professional Project Management Certification (CSM, CSPO, PMP)
