Balanced rocks

At Trailstone, we believe that our team feeling happy and fulfilled, both at and outside of work, is vitally important to our overall success. According to a recent study from Mental Health America, only 34% of employees state that their company’s leadership speaks openly about mental health and only 3 in 5 employees agree that their manager cares about their wellbeing.

With May being Mental Health Awareness Month, we wanted to highlight how we’re ensuring that our global teams have access to all the tools they need to prioritize their mental health — from offering competitive benefits to hosting fun internal events. As an organization with over 170 employees, we believe that one of our greatest responsibilities is to create a healthy company culture that promotes work-life balance.

Committed to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

We believe our success is directly attributed to our team’s differences in backgrounds, identities, and experiences. Diversity not only creates value for our employees, investors, and communities, but it also creates a robust marketplace of ideas. Our ideas are what set Trailstone apart as a market leader in energy innovation and disruption.

To ensure that we’re actively brainstorming new initiatives and projects to build a workplace where everyone feels like they belong, we have a dedicated Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) committee comprised of employees from each of our global offices.

Another way that we strive for inclusivity is by observing nationally recognized holidays, such as Women’s History Month, Juneteenth, and Pride Month to name a few. We believe that taking the time to acknowledge and celebrate these important holidays fosters a deeper sense of respect and understanding among our colleagues. We’re an organization that encourages our team to come as they are — without fear of being judged or discriminated against.

We’re also a strong proponent of closing the gender gap in the technology industry and are always aiming to improve our own female representation. Last year, we increased our female hires by 8%, and hired 30% more women on our tech team than the industry average. We are determined to continue this growth. It’s very important to us that our current and prospective colleagues feel like they have a place in tech and creating a clean energy future at Trailstone.

Benefits

Providing competitive benefits is one of Trailstone’s top priorities because we want to ensure that our team has everything they need to take care of themselves — especially their mental health. Although exact numbers vary based on each of our global locations, we offer paid annual leave, sick time off, time off for bank holidays, bonuses, 401K matching, pensions, Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs), and more.

Employee Assistance Programs

Every Trailstone location offers employee assistance programs (EAPs), which is a confidential employee benefit designed to help individuals deal with personal and professional problems that could be affecting their home or work life, health, or general wellbeing. It offers expert advice and compassionate guidance 24/7, covering a wide range of issues.

Internal Events

We’re always hosting internal events for our team to bond whether it be over good drinks, giving back to our local communities, participating in some friendly competition, or facilitating meaningful discussions.

Recently, our Austin office volunteered at Central Texas Food Bank to help lead the community in the fight against hunger. Over at our London office, we hosted a cocktail event and offered complimentary massages to celebrate being back in the office. We’re currently in the process of planning our annual Trailstone Olympics where our team participates in yard games to get out of the office and enjoy the summer sunshine.

Across each of our offices, we also host Women’s Roundtable sessions which encourage open and honest discussions about our female colleagues’ experience working in a male-dominated environment and raise awareness about the existence of potential microaggressions or discrimination in the workplace so we can proactively combat those issues.
