About the Internship

We are offering one quantitative risk analyst internship, based in our Austin office, for Summer 2023.   

This internship will offer you the opportunity to experience our fast-paced commodities environment - researching, designing and implementing internal quantitative based solutions of a high enough quality for production application. Our interns will be given the responsibility of assisting on key projects; like statistical trend analysis, analytic based commodity price scenarios, allowing our risk and portfolio managers to easily adjust the position we want to trade.    

During this 12-week internship, you can expect to use:  

• Python for backend  
• SQL   
• C# for some backend, but primarily for our continuous trading applications  
• In-house data storage solution built using AWS Athena, S3 and AWS GLUE, along with SQL Server 
• Statistical methods  

   

About You  

Ultimately, we are looking for self-driven people who are able to work collaboratively and looking to start a career in software engineering.  

It is not a pre-requisite to know all the languages in our stack nor commodity trading and risk management, but our expectation is that our interns will be able to learn whatever language is required and statistical methods for their assigned project work during the internship (most likely Python and/or React).  

In addition, we are looking for people who possess the following attributes;  

• Passionate about developing software and writing clean/decoupled code  
• Self-driven  
• Able to work in a team  
• Open to learning new programming languages and statistic based methods
