Middle Office Lead

Austin Office | On-Site Working | Full-Time Role

  

About the Role 

We are looking for an experienced Middle Office Lead to join our North American CFO team, based in our growing Austin office. This will be a senior role within the organisation, running a team of two direct reports, owning the following responsibilities: 

• Daily P&L reporting and analysis (T0 Flash and T1 EOD results). 
• Daily Position reporting. 
• Perform daily reconciliation between system of record and broker statements. 
• Work with the Accounting team to understand and present accounting to economic value reconciliations and walk-throughs. 
• Perform ad hoc analysis for business planning, trends and other needs. 
• Be the primary go-to person for data and analysis regarding various portfolios and trading strategies. 
• Interact with trading, schedulers, risk, accounting and other groups to have a full front-to-back understanding of commodities business. 
• Work closely with global counterparts to collaborate and align processes. 
• Ensuring the continued development of your team and providing cross-training to ensure coverage during scheduled and unscheduled outages. 

  

About You 

This person will be an experienced Middle Office professional, collaborative by nature, with a background in the energy sector. In addition, we are looking for somebody with the following essential requirements: 

• Degree in accounting, finance, economics or equivalent studies. 
• Significant experience in supporting power and gas trading. 
• Strong analytical, organizational and time-management skills. 
• Proficiency in SQL and Python. 
• Proficiency in Excel. 
• Prior management experience preferred.
