Senior Originator, North America

 

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Originator to join us in Texas, working from our Austin HQ. Trailstone is a highly quantitative trading company with an international presence – this hire will be focused on North America, charged with rapidly expanding Trailstone’s renewable optimization and PPA business. The origination team is small but leverages the capabilities of the trading desks, fundamental and quantitative analysis teams, and internal legal teams.

This will be a full-time role, owning the following responsibilities:

• Customer outreach and deal origination.
• Analysis of customer needs and market dynamics to create profitable structures.
• Interface with trading and quant fundamental analysis teams to understand and challenge conclusions.
• Negotiate with counterparties and internal stakeholders.
• Project management including the frequent need to properly mobilize internal resources and drive deals to conclusion.
• Coordinate customer meetings, calls and internal deal reviews.

 

About You

This person will be based in Texas, able to work on-site from our Austin office. In addition, we are looking for somebody with the following:

Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge:

• A degree in Business, Engineering, Mathematics or a similar discipline - or commensurate experience.
• Tangible knowledge of renewable power offtake structures.
• Strong understanding of ERCOT and CAISO power markets. Further knowledge of PJM, MISO, SPP, NYISO and ISO-NE a considered a plus.
• Additional market knowledge of Gas, REC, CO2 is also desirable.
• Strong base of industry contacts is required.
