About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Middle Office Analyst to join our growing global Finance team, based in our London office. This Analyst will be focused on our UK & European trade operations for physical power & gas markets as a priority, whilst providing ad-hoc support to our North American Trade Control team.

  • Performing daily position reporting and reconciliations between system of record and broker statements.
  • Interacting with physical Power & Gas trading desks, risk teams and global counterparts to have a full front-to-back understanding of our commodities business, ensuring process alignment.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for trader queries and escalations in Europe, for Power markets across the UK and EU.
  • Working with the Accounting team to understand and present economic value reconciliations and walk-throughs.
  • As the Senior Analyst, acting as a mentor within your team, providing cross-training where needed and ensuring coverage during scheduled and unscheduled outages.

About You

This person will be an experienced trading operations professional, and collaborative by nature. Though our trading activity is focussed on multiple energy assets, this role's primary focus will be on European physical power markets. As a Senior Analyst within the team, we also encourage applicants with prior exposure to, or interest in, mentoring and team leadership. In summary, we are looking for somebody with the following:

  • European physical power markets experience - this is essential at this position's level.
  • Prior working experience supporting commodities trading desks directly.
  • Strong analytical and data management skills.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python.
  • Proficiency with Excel.

Don’t meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that women and individuals from minority backgrounds often hesitate to apply for positions unless they fulfil every requirement.
